Miss Russia 2014 contestants take in Russia’s capital

10 февраля 2014
The most beautiful women in Russia have started to prepare for the Miss Russia 2014 final, which will be held on March 1 at Moscow’s Barvikha Concert Hall.

While the contestants have a tough schedule – rising early every day for hours of training and master classes – there is also time for entertainment. Recently, the contestants attended a master class by the famous stylist Gala Borzova, who advised the contestants on how to choose the best outfit for every occasion, and what items are a must for any woman’s wardrobe.

The contestants also took a tour of Moscow. For some, it was their first time in the capital. They visited historical sites and the most famous areas of Moscow: Red Square, Tverskaya Street, Moscow State University, the Bolshoi Theater and GUM, enthusiastically photographing Moscow’s landmarks.

At the end of their Moscow tour, the Miss Russia contestants enjoyed a master class by Ekaterina Guseva, the celebrated actress of the Moscow Operetta Theater. Ekaterina appeared before the contestants in the costume of Catherine the Great, her current role in the Graf Orlov musical. Using her experience from this role, she was able to provide pertinent instruction to the future Miss Russias: how to wear a crown and act like a real queen. Ekaterina invited the contestants on stage and let them try on the crown used in her role portraying Russia’s Great Empress. The master class was followed by a performance of Graf Orlov.
